Parentals

It gets under my skin when a "part time" parent, (a single parent that splits there time with the baby mama/daddy) says they need a "break". I use to be one of these parents, so I don't have much room to talk, but I can say I'm not one of those parents anymore. Let me add to that, I have my child every single day. Over the past few weeks, ever Friday and Saturday night I have been home, with Kensley. Looking back, do I regret it? Did I miss out on something more important? Absolutely not, but there are times I look back and wish I WAS at home with her instead of some place else. Most "single" parents have a break every other weekend and often a night or two a week, am I right? Recently, VERY recently, I come to realize how selfish I was. How Kensley ONLY had me, and that she needed me all the time. She loves to go and stay with her Grammy, but she always wants me to come pick her up, usually she's already in bed, but I still do anyway. For someone who only sees their kid a few days say they need a break really just rubs me the wrong way. Hey, you should have thought about that before you had a child. Put your child first. Period. The End.

End Rant.

Oh, wait... Also all you single Mama and Paps out there.. STOP criticizing the other parent for the SAME thing you do.

Happy Monday! : )

Day 13 & 14

Day 13 Regret

I don't want to have any regrets from this point on in my life. I know that I probably will, but I am going to try really hard not to.

I regret a lot. A lot of which we won't talk about or we'd be here all day. But one thing I regret the most is not spending the time I should have with my little brother.

I have seen my brother twice in the past 16 months. It sucks to be away from someone you love for that long. If I had known things would be like this, I promise you, my priorities would have been spending as much time with him instead of worrying about what all my friends were doing or what I would be doing on a Friday night.

Day 14 What's on your iPod

Country, country and more country.

I'm obsessed with country music.  But the most recent I bought was Blake Shelton's new album. I must say, I am VERY impressed. I'm a huge fan of Kenny, Eric, The King, or Gary Allan, never ever disappointed. I get pumped when they come out with a new album. Blake Shelton? Ehhh, not so much. I like several of his old stuff, Austin especially, but this is one album I LOVE.

Also, I've got tons of Kenny, because everyone likes Kenny Chesney, especially when the weather warms up. I don't care who you are.

I have every song Eric Church has ever recorded, all of Lady A's music, Jana Kramer and her beau BG, The King, Darius, also one of my favs, plus his Hootie stuff, you see where this is going.

I may have MAYBE 10 songs that are not country, and they are all old school stuff.

I'm a M-F blogger for sure.

So, my weekends are pretty slammed. So I'm a blogger slacker on Saturday and Sunday.

Since I will be out of pocket for the next few weeks beginning Friday, we did the whole Easter thing this weekend.

I swear I love that sweet baby more than I've ever loved anything in my entire life.

Day 10 Daily Routine

Our daily routine is rush, rush, rush.  No, seriously. No matter how early I wake up, I feel like I will be late.

The only routine we have is school/work everyday and bath time and story time before bed...

Day 11 Last Book Read

Safe Haven. Amazing read. If you haven't read the book you should, then you should watch the movie. It's awesome.

Day 12 Something you Miss

This I could write on all day long....

I miss Summer time. I miss the beach. I miss my toes in the sand and the smell of salt water.

I miss my baby brother, and my mama and papa.
I miss my best friend.
I miss my granddaddy.
I miss the way things were this time last year. and the way there were when I was a child.
I miss a lot of things and for a lot of different reasons...

Day 8 & 9

Day 8 Pet Peeves

  • Sorry parents are at the top of this list for a number of reasons. Most of which you probably already know.
  • Slow drivers
  • People who say one thing and do another
  • Fake people
  • Two faced people
  • People who are late
  • People who spell words weird like yu or kewl. JUST STOP.
Obviously if you know me well you know my list of pet peeves is a lot longer, but I pretty well covered the basics.

Day 9 Bucket List

  • Live at the beach
  • Spend some time on Cinnamon Bay
  • Own a boat, A BIG ONE
  • Learn to play the guitar
  • Visit All of Europe, Figi, Bora Bora, All the Virgin Islands
  • Grow old with someone I love
  • Make an important decision with a coin toss
  • Have a few, or maybe even just one more little rugrat
  • Meet my favorite artist, the list is long, but I'm slowly marking them off
  • Go to the Braves Spring Training
I could spend all day on this....

Parenthood and Dating

I came across this article, and it's a topic that always comes up with single parents.
So, I thought I'd voice my opinion. As if you care ;)

So, after dealing with a few baby mama's and being one cray cray one myself, I use to always say that I wouldn't date anyone with kids again. Pretty selfish, considering I have one little princess of my own. I may be cutting my nose off despite my face, in this blog post, but it's how I feel. (Big Cheese Emoji Inserted Here)

My kid is my whole world. You don't have to be around me very long to know this. She will always come first in my life. There have been many many times especially since she is getting older that I have had to miss out on something I wanted to do because she had a dance, or play, or whatever else going on. I won't miss out on anything she does, mainly because I'm the only parent she has and my parents aren't really here to fill in if I were to miss anything like my grandparents were. I don't want to miss anything in her life. I want her to always remember me being at every event in her life. There are so many children that don't have that, and it really breaks my heart to even think about it. With all that being said, I often feel like I don't have enough time for a dating life. I will start dating someone and they will want to go out of town for a weekend or something and I won't do it. I have huge separation anxiety, I guess. Anyway, guys that don't have kids don't really understand that whole, "responsibility" thing. They can go and do whatever they please at the drop of a hat. I on the other hand have to make sure there's not anything going on with dance or church or school, who will pick her up or keep her, etc. and  more times than not doesn't work out. I had a very brief friendship with a guy and every time I couldn't see him 27 days in a row, he'd throw a fit. Okay, in all honesty I rarely ever saw him two days in a row, but I have a kid. So that's pretty much impossible unless said beau is going to be around the princess, and that ain't happening unless I'm head over heels for someone. Sorry not sorry. So now that I've come to the conclusion guys without kids have no clue what it's like, it's time to address the guys that do. Most men, guys, boys, whatever you wanna call them don't have the parenting skills women have. Period. Sorry dads. A very, very, very, very few do. Being a good dad is the biggest turn on EVA! Period. You can be Charles Esten fine, and serenade me all night long with a good tune on your six string, but if you're a sorry dad that's as far as it's gonna go. If he's a good dad, your time together is going to be limited. This I have found out. I'm spoiled and needy and a brat, so this is tough for me. But If I want someone to respect the parent I am, I have to do the same. I'd rather have someone who is going to be a good dad over a dead beat any day.

Day 7 Your Dream Job

My dream job goes right along with my "dream life" ha

My dream job would be to take pictures on the beach. I mean let's face it, they have to make a killing because you always see those families in the "white" beach pictures and there is always beach weddings. I love taking pictures and I love the beach. It would be a win win situation for me for sure. In order to do that I would need to live at the beach, another win.

Today was Kensley's very first picture day and after I dropped her off this morning it hit me, and cried all the way to work. Go figure. She's growing up way too fast. I swear she's probably the smartest kid I know, with the smartest mouth too. I know you all are probably wondering where she gets it, right? Anyway, hug your little ones tight because you'll blink and they'll be grown. Last night I was playing with Will and he's just a little over 2 and I swear it seems like last week he was cruising around on his knees and couldn't even walk much less speak. Now, those little words he says, "I luz you" melts my freaking heart. It's crazy that your heart can love the way I love that baby. Love that sweet boy with my whole heart.

Days 3-6 because I'm a slacker.

Day 3 What makes you happy

Lots of things make me happy, I'm not hard to please. (Okay, that's a lie) But as long as I get my way, I"m usually pretty happy and my way is usually the right way, so everyone wins. I kid, I kid. Geez. What makes me happy: Everything my kid does makes me happy. Correction: almost everything. The beach, sunshine, new music, seeing other people happy, beach,  Will Suttle & Little Linlee, food, road trips, Bama football, actually bama anything, beach, Braves baseball, online shopping, beach, family time, did I say the beach??? I have a ton of other things that make me happy, that's just to top it off.

Day 4 Favorite Childhood Memory

I have a ton. All pretty much involve my Granddaddy. I swear I loved that man more than life, he was my hero. I hate the fact Kensley didn't get to know him, if he was here she would be way more spoiled than she already is, if that's even possible. But, My grandparents usually took, me, Marla and Matthew to the beach several times a year. I always remember all of us looking like Indian children, staying on the beach all day, which i still do, ordering big foot pizza's from dominoes  getting TCBY ice cream, crab hunting every night and of course put put and go carts. I still do these exact same things every time I'm at the beach. I hope Kensley remembers these beach trips the way I do.

Day 5 Favorite movies you never get tired of watching

The Holiday
Hunger Games
Gone With The Wind
PS I Love You
Notebook
Charlie St. Cloud
Any Disney Movie
Green Mile
Shawshank Redemption
Ok, my list is long enough.. No where near close to the end.

Day 6 Your last random act of kindness

No biggie, but was my last random act of kindness  I gave a co worker, who is sick my last can of chicken noodle soup, and went on my lunch and bought a can from the gas station for 3.79$ It's like .60 in the grocery store.

Now, I'm caught up. NO more slacking. Ha.

Day 2 &&& a little other thrown in

Favorite Quotes

I should probably just share a link to my twitter page...

But, I will post a few I guess..

Faith in God, includes faith in his timing.
Because I constantly remind  myself things will work out the way they are suppose to in HIS timing.

Sometimes the best thing you can do is not think, not wonder, not imagine, not obsess, just breathe and have faith that everything will work out for the best.
Sometimes your mind is your worst enemy.

This is by far one of my favorites, and my newest tat.

In case Seth every reads this, which I'm sure he never will, but last night we went to watch him play. Btw, I love kids, especially if they are related to me, and little boys, so we spend a lot of time with him and Drew. I love watching them play. I was the same way with Matthew, especially before I had Kensley and got busy being a mom. ANYWAY, (ADD kicked in) he did great last night! Aunt Sandy had to be in town with Andrew and Uncle Chris had to work so I got to be a baseball mama for the night and I sooo enjoyed it despite how friggin cold it was. Kuddos to you Seth if you ever read this, you did great last night!

Luke Bryan played at the wharf last night, I planned on going a few months back.. then with work and everything else it didn't look like I was going to get to go, then everything worked out, so pumped about going and then they tell us we have recital pictures at dance Saturday. BOOOO! Oh well, that's part of being a parent I guess. My sweet grandmother offered to take her of course, but there's no way I'm going to miss that, plus my grandmother is under way too much anyway, but like always she tries to do everything for everyone else. God blessed me so much by putting that woman in my life. I have come to realize not everyone has a family as good mine.

So since it's going to be so a beautiful weekend after we knock out pics Saturday you will find these girls outside for sure!

31 days of blogging

We all know that I probably won't do this for 31 days, but here's to wishful thinking...

Day 1 Self Portrait and 5 random facts.

This is my one of my favorite pics, it's from last year, but I was super dark.. My goal is to be this dark again asap.

1.) My child is my entire world. If I'm away from her for more than a few hours it hurts my heart. She's seriously my best friend. She makes any bad day a good one. She melts my heart with her sweet honesty. If it wasn't for her, there is no telling where my free spirited soul might be today, but I'm glad I'm where I'm at and wouldn't change a thing about it!
So typical of her to make some crazy face. Yep, she's def. my kid and such a diva!

2. ) My body may be here, but my soul is at the beach. If you know me, you know how often I go down, most are very spur of the moment, need to get away trips. I'm obsessed with the feeling I have when I am there, mark my words.. I will reside on the coast one day.

3.) I love sports. Period. All of them. But, I bleed Crimson! Roll Tide. I'm also a huge Braves and Saints fan!

4.) I'm obsessed with country music. If you follow me on Twitter you know this by all my lyrical tweets. Most of you won't understand this, but when I listen to songs, the music and lyrics really hit me in my soul.

5.) The past few weeks I have been working hard to get in shape (like I've ever been before). I've been eating healthy and hitting the gym every weekday morning. I"m not weighing myself, I don't care how much weight I lose, I just wanna be able to rock any outfit I choose!
:)

What's been up the past 5 months..

I really, really, REALLY suck at blogging. Like REALLY. But I’ve become completely obsessed with it. I love reading them, and wish I took the time to do mine.

So here’s what’s up…

I left off in November, saying what I was thankful for. BTW, I did what I was thankful for on FB, everyday.. I didn’t just stop on day 2! My parents come home, It had been 9 months since I had seen my Mama. I missed her so much, but I missed my baby brother way more. That kid has my heart. Although technically I see them every week, thank you apple for facetime, I want to be able to put my arms around him. I want to let him drive me around and go fishing and have Sunday lunch. Ok, enough of that before my waterworks kick on. It’s too early for all that. The point I was trying to make is I miss him, it’s been way too long since I saw that sweet face of his. Christmas came and went, and my kid is spoiled, as if you didn’t already know this. I turned 25, womp womp….no biggie. Kensley is turning into quiet the little ballerina/tapper, she thinks she needs to teach mom some of her moves, and def. tells me when I don’t do them right. AND last, but not least, this is week 2 of me going to the gym. Yes, I know you all are probably like, WTH, but I actually feel sooo much better. Well, after about the first two hours. If I ate right I would probably lose a ton, but im too fat, and I love food way to much. I eat really good throughout the week but then on the weekend, throw that ish out the window.. It’s a start though.

Now that I’ve caught this thing up, here’s to trying to keep it update.. We’ll see how well it goes!
